Washington, DC (February 7, 2024) The Elizabeth Dole Foundation proudly announces the election of Wayne Peacock, president and chief executive officer of USAA, to the position of Vice Chair on the Foundation’s Board of Directors. With more than 35 years of dedicated service at USAA, Wayne Peacock brings a wealth of leadership experience to further advance the Foundation’s mission of supporting military families.

“I’ve long admired Senator Elizabeth Dole’s commitment to service, and since its founding, the Elizabeth Dole Foundation has had a significant impact on the military community,” said Wayne Peacock, USAA president and CEO. “USAA has proudly supported EDF programs that empower and honor our nation’s military caregivers, and we recently expanded our work together to advance Face the Fight, a coalition founded to help prevent veteran suicide. I’m honored to join the EDF board of directors and serve alongside Senator Dole, Secretary Bob McDonald, CEO Steve Schwab, and other directors who share a commitment to serving those who serve, supporting our nation’s Hidden Heroes and strengthening military families.”

“There is one entity that has been with us consistently from our earliest days as a true and real partner, and that’s USAA,” said Steve Schwab, CEO of the Elizabeth Dole Foundation. “Now, a decade later, we are privileged to welcome a leader of Wayne Peacock’s caliber to join Secretary Bob McDonald, me, and our prestigious board at this very exciting and transformative time to lead the Foundation with strength into our next decade.”

Wayne Peacock’s election as vice chair marks a significant milestone in a series of high-profile leadership additions at the Elizabeth Dole Foundation. Former Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs and former Chairman and CEO of Procter & Gamble, Robert McDonald, recently became the Foundation’s new Board Chair, bringing unparalleled experience in military and veteran issues, healthcare, and innovation. The Foundation has also welcomed Elizabeth Field, formerly a senior member of the Government Accountability Office (GAO), as chief operating officer, adding a seasoned professional with a strong background in defense matters and organizational management to its executive team.

A proud USAA member for over three decades, Wayne Peacock’s journey with the company began in 1988, and he has since led a number of functions, including contact centers, information technology, shared services, strategy, marketing and communications, security, and corporate real estate. He assumed the role of CEO in February 2020, following his tenure as President of USAA’s Property & Casualty Insurance Group.

Recognized for his industry leadership, Wayne Peacock has been lauded by P&C Specialist as number five on its Top 25 Leaders of Personal Lines influencers list. Fast Company also acknowledged him among the 100 most creative people in business.

The Elizabeth Dole Foundation is honored to welcome Wayne Peacock to the board of directors as vice chair and looks forward to leveraging his extensive expertise in advancing its mission to support and uplift America’s military caregivers, their veterans and families.
