The Wounded Warriors Amputee Softball Team exists to motivate, inspire, and serve. Players on the WWAST travel the country playing softball continuing their service beyond the military uniform. The team recognizes this could not happen without the support of loved ones back home; therefore, the WWAST hosts trips that include the caregiver and their warrior. These trips have included outings to Hawaii and the Virgin Islands in appreciation for the support the caregivers have given to our warriors.
The WWAST represents some of our nation’s bravest and most determined heroes, soldiers and veterans. These men have sustained severe injuries resulting in amputation, and through extensive
rehabilitation, they have become competitive athletes again, playing against able-bodied teams in exhibition games across the country.
