Since its program beginnings, Lakeshore Foundation in Birmingham, Alabama has proudly served members of our Armed Forces who have sustained physical injuries during their time of service. The Lima Foxtrot programs for injured military began as a response to the significant number of men and women acquiring injuries from Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Lakeshore has served over 2,600 injured servicemen and women and their families from 46 states, DC and Puerto Rico since 2006. Through Lima Foxtrot, active-duty personnel, veterans, caregivers and their families use lessons from sport and recreation to learn how to pursue an active, healthy lifestyle. We provide multiple extended weekend programs on an annual basis. In addition to our weekend programs, Lakeshore offers a waived membership to local individuals with a service-connected physical disability or chronic health condition.
