Effort builds upon the Foundation’s work to support veterans, caregivers, and military families.

Washington, D.C. (October 12, 2021) The Elizabeth Dole Foundation launches I Am A Caregiver, a state-by-state campaign that will shine a light on military and veteran caregivers by encouraging individuals, some of whom might not know they are a caregiver, to self-identify and be recognized as part of the I Am A Caregiver initiative.

“We are proud to launch I Am A Caregiver today, reaffirming the Foundation’s commitment to supporting military and veteran caregivers across the country,” said Senator Elizabeth Dole. “It is critical that we ensure caregivers know the tools and support available to them as they continue selflessly serving our nation’s veterans.”

I Am A Caregiver seeks to build off the work being done by the Elizabeth Dole Foundation’s Hidden Heroes Cities and Counties program, which is sponsored by Comcast NBCUniversal, to grow the network of military and veteran caregivers nationwide. The campaign will begin in Michigan, expanding to additional states over the next year.
