Caregiver Mental Wellness

Created by Caregivers, for Caregivers

A mental wellness framework built for you, the caregiver, and those who support you.

The Elizabeth Dole Foundation is not a crisis response organization. If you are in crisis, please contact 911 or go to your nearest emergency room or reach out to the Suicide and Crisis Line at 988.

A mental wellness framework built for you, the caregiver, and those who support you. This first-of-its kind resource provides a foundation for recognizing the importance of your mental wellness, and ways to support (nourish) your mental wellness journey. It has been created by caregivers who share your experiences and recognize the importance of reflection, connection, and resources.

Resources

A 12-week, faith-based, peer-led course that helps veterans, active-duty military and their families heal from service-related trauma.

“I wish I knew about NAMI and the Homefront class in the beginning, that was a life-changing class for me. I met caregivers who understood my life – so make friends/connections with people who get it!”

A free service for families and friends of Veterans where responders will briefly assess your concerns and provide appropriate resources and referrals. Through 10-30 minute calls, licensed psychologists and social workers offer guidance and help for starting conversations with the Veteran in your life about their mental health or substance use and motivating them to seek treatment if it’s needed.

Friendship, understanding, community, connection, validation, support, and resource sharing – find all of this and more on our Hidden Heroes Caregiver Community (HHCC). If you help care for a wounded warrior or veteran at home, become part of our peer support network and find your tribe.

In uncertain times like these, our work to support America’s military and veteran families is more important than ever. Your gift today will provide critical programs to reach the most vulnerable families in our community and ensure military caregivers across the country can access the support they need to care for themselves and their wounded warriors throughout this pandemic.
